In the Judiciary, the ombudsman is a neutral staff person who answers questions, addresses concerns from the public and is responsible for enhancing customer service in the courts. Although the ombudsman is unable to provide legal advice, the ombudsman can help guide court users through the system with as much ease as possible. For instance if you need to schedule a telephonic hearing or need help figuring out how to request an adjournment.
Rutgers Law Associates is the law practice within the Rutgers Law Associates Fellowship Program, an innovative program of Rutgers Law School. The law firm is comprised of lawyers recently admitted to practice law, who are all deeply committed to serving the needs of moderate-income New Jerseyans who often cannot afford quality legal services at today’s market rates. Under the constant supervision of the managing attorney, a lawyer and legal educator with more than twenty-five years of experience, these dedicated attorneys provide legal assistance in a wide range of areas, and charge a reduced fee.
