Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) State Budget
Contact your state legislators today! Urge them to support additional funding for domestic violence services in the FY24 State Budget:
- Support Governor Murphy’s proposal to include $6 million to support housing for domestic violence survivors.
- Support Governor Murphy’s proposal to include $3 million to support Abuse Intervention Programs.
- Pass a Budget Resolution to increase funding for domestic violence services $10 million above FY21 funding levels.
- Pass a Budget Resolution to allocate $2 million to the Office of the Attorney General to support implementation of Domestic Violence Response Teams in each county.
Domestic violence programs served 42% more victims of domestic violence in 2022 when compared to 2021. Unmet needs due to insufficient funding increased in 2022 by nearly 6x the rate of unmet needs in 2021. Domestic violence programs need your help meeting the needs of survivors in their communities.

NJ 2022-2023 Legislative Session
NJCEDV supports legislation that:
- Centers the experience and needs of survivors from marginalized communities including Black and brown survivors, undocumented survivors, LGBTQI+ survivors, survivors with disabilities, and survivors who have been criminalized.
- Improves access to services for all survivors.
- Ensures safe, affordable and quality housing for all survivors.
- Supports survivors’ economic safety and security.
- Develops abuse intervention programming and restorative practices in response domestic violence.
